Player Positions – Parents FAQ’s

Highlander Soccer Club

How many kids can play on each team?

The NW District advises each team have:

  • U9/10 in either A or B division: 14 maximum players, 7v7 game format.
  • U11/U12 in either A or B division: 18 maximum players, 9v9 game format.
  • U13/U14 in either A or B division: 22 maximum players, 11v11 game format.

What is the smallest number of kids on a roster for each team/age group?

  • No less than 9 rostered players to form a U9/U10 team.
  • No less than 11 rostered players to form a U11/U12 team.
  • No less than 13 primary rostered players to form a U13/U14 team.

What is a Developmental/Training Position?

A developmental/training position is when there is no room on an age appropriate roster for a child but HSC would like for that child to still participate in training and practicing with the club.  This option also may be a good option for families who have many other commitments and can not participate regularly in games, thus leaving a team short on a regular basis.

This option includes two practices a week and two mini-clinics (times TBD).
